1.  I will miss my friends and family

2.  I am giving up a cool apartment in the most beautiful place on earth

3.  I am leaving a great job

4.  Coming back will be weird

5. I will get lonely

6. I will get dirty

7.  I will probably learn things I don’t want to know

8.  I don’t know how to say “I have been throwing up for two days” in any language except English

9. The word for “vegan” in Slovakia is, well, there isn’t one

10.  I am a size XXL in Viet Nam

On the list of places to go so far — Spain, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Greece, Egypt, Thailand, Cambodia. But trying not to plan!

  1. Everywhere you go, you are there. Wherever you are, there you be. Therefore, do not be surprised if you see yourself often, out there, on the road. You may look different, feel very different. It’s still you, just in a different place, yet sometimes hard to recognize.

    This other you… out there… may surprise you. Try to accept her, soften to her, and hold her hand and bring her with you. It’s you. She’s safe. You’ll take care of each other. You’re surrounded by love and safety.

    You’ll come back with many Kims. I look forward to hearing about their adventures.
